...and the devoted mummy Laurel, baptisesd by a USA school,
...belong to an Adele penguin colony in Ross island, Antarctica.
The parents have been taking turns in looking after the eggs since November.While the one goes out to feed in the open sea, the other stay dutifully back at the the nest, sitting on the eggs day and night, without food or water for periods as long as 15 days!
The first chick came out on December 26th...
and the second two days later...
Aren't they perfect?
And the big question is:
What shall we call the babies?
